Dixie State announced the $300,000 gift Friday in support of atmospheric research on the International Space Station and a NASA satellite mission, noting in a news release that such grants are usually awarded to high-level research universities and large research corporations.Investigation on Aerospace Corporation's Global Ultraviolet Imager project to study the effects of solar and magnetic storms on vehicles orbiting the earth is being led by Andrew Christensen, a former DSC science department staff member and retired Aerospace scientist who continues to work for the company on a casual basis.
