Construction complete at BLM one-stop building in Kanab

Construction is complete on the the Bureau of Land Management" $9.25-million building. The project was funded by the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act of 2009. Construction began in November of 2010, and occupation was in January of this year. building at 669 South Highway 89A. The building co-locates several local arms of the agency. The Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument Headquarters, Color County District’s Kanab Field Office and locally-based BLM Fire units were previously housed in different locations.

The 5.4 acre site includes parking, storage and planting areas. The single story administrative building is 16,350 square foot, with an exterior of stone and stucco. It features a 6,600 foot warehouse for storage, a large paleontology laboratory and a general science lab. Southern Utah News
