New Businesses in Washington County

One of the newest additions to the St. George economy is the Red Rock Commons shopping center at 100 S. River Road. Stores like Old Navy, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Gap,  and ULTA Beauty are moving into the complex, and some have already opened. Not only are the new stores creating more jobs for the area, customers are also pleased with having more options for shopping locally.

There are new small businesses popping up throughout Washington County, including a new spa and relaxation center called Sacred Space, which is located in Kayenta.

Scott Hirschi, director of the Washington County Economic Development Council, said he is glad to see growth in the Washington County area, not just with added retail and service stores, but also with manufacturers and distribution centers. Hirschi said he expects to see new additions in the form of new manufacturing companies and the expansion of current business operations, however he was unable to disclose information about companies planning to expand or relocate to the area.

"We’ve had more activity in the past four months than we have in about the past four years,” he said. “We’ve seen a lot of positive movement, and we are on the verge of making a few huge announcements.”  The Spectrum
