Conservation grant awarded to Iron County property

A chunk of private forest land below Brian Head Ski Resort was selected as a grant recipient under a program that aims to conserve wildlands and protect them from housing developments and other encroachments.

The Dry Lakes Ranch, 1862 acres of property in Iron County, received $1.4 million as part of a $72 million 2010 grant selection through the Forest Legacy Program. Awards were given to projects in multiple states and U.S. territories. The Deseret News
