The area plotted for the turbines is 15 miles east of Idaho Falls, Idaho, which has more than 7,000 acres of land under contract. The project is owned by Utah Associated Municipal Power Systems. The cost of the total project is $230 million. The city has 2.72 percent ownership based on existing entitlement shares. The project will to cost the city $2.3 million.
