The Cedar City Council has considered an amendment to the city's zoning ordinance that would allow solar energy production. The amendment had been reviewed at a previous planning commission meeting in a public hearing before being presented to the council for another hearing.
Brent Drew, vice president of business development at Quantum Development Group, told the council that for several years he has been sending out proposals for companies to bring their businesses to Cedar City. He said for the past year and a half companies have been asking about generating at least some of the power they would need for industrial use with renewable energy. The Spectrum
