Dixie State College prepares for changes to campus

Dixie State College's landscape will undergo a radical transformation during the next two years as the school prepares for an influx of students and a move toward university status. A five-story, 160,000-square-foot building will replace the library and the student services offices and set a new tone for school architecture following the selection of a general contractor Jan. 18. Once the Holland building is completed, another four- to five-story classroom edifice will be constructed on its south side. The new Jeffrey R. Holland Centennial Commons building was funded in March by an appropriation of $38 million from the Utah Legislature, combined with donations of $10 million raised by the school. The Spectrum
