Input sought on solar plan
Federal officials are coming to Southern Utah this spring to gather public comment on a study of public lands in western states that could be pegged for solar power generation. The detailed study, a two-year-old effort called the Draft Solar Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement, has identified 24 spots throughout the southwest as "solar energy zones" that could be prime areas for utility-scale solar energy facilities, including sites in the Escalante Valley and Milford Flats.
