Officials hopeful of new St. George airport's future
Officials say there are promising signs and tangible economic gains in the month since the new St. George Municipal Airport opened. Air traffic in January was up 25 percent over the previous January, national exposure has increased and several businesses have said the new airport has piqued their interest in relocating to Southern Utah."We've already had half a dozen aviation-oriented companies come knocking on our door," said Scott Hirschi, director of the Washington County Economic Development Council.
