Besides being one of the top employers in Washington County and a beehive of volunteer and charity efforts, Dixie Regional fulfills Intermountain's mission in our community by providing excellent healthcare at an affordable cost.
Terri Kane, hospital administrator and regional vice-president for Intermountain's Southwest Region points out, "Dixie Regional is the tertiary referral center for the entire southwest region. We cover five counties in Utah, as well as parts of two other states, so besides caring for those in Washington County, we support the physicians and hospitals in the smaller surrounding communities in the care of more complex patients."
The needs of the region as a whole are taken into consideration as new services are offered at Dixie Regional. That was the case as the hospital brought on heart surgery, newborn intensive care, and numerous other services.
The needs of the region have also been a factor as the hospital prepares to open the Southwest Neurosciences Institute this summer and welcome the area's first neurosurgeon. The Spectrum
