New Dixie State College Commons Building opens its doors

Construction is nearing completion on Dixie State College’s Jeffrey R. Holland Building. The five-story, approximately 170,000-square-foot Holland building will house the school's library as well as study areas and student services such as financial aid, registration and advising. Dedication ceremonies are planned Sept. 7. Officials indicate the addition of the building is just one more step towards Dixie State College becoming a university. In the final Board of Trustees meeting of the just-completed semester, school President Stephen Nadauld said he thinks an announcement that the college will be granted university status could be forthcoming within 18 to 24 months.
