Study questions Lake Powell Pipeline


Southern Utah's proposed Lake Powell Pipeline and other large-scale projects could lead to water shortages and increased costs throughout the West, according to a new report from the Natural Resources Defense Council. The environmental advocacy group is the latest entity to question the viability of major pipeline projects in the desert Southwest, communicating in its summary of the report that at a slew of proposed water projects fail to adequately account for climate change, the availability of water and energy use.
