Groundbreaking for Kayenta Arts Center in Washington County

Community members and arts supporters gathered to celebrate the groundbreaking for the construction of the new Kayenta Center for the Arts. The new 9,400-square-foot facility is to be located in the Coyote Gulch Art Village in the arts-based community of Kayenta in Ivins. The development of the facility is the work of the Kayenta Arts Foundation, a nonprofit organization, and its supporters.

According to a press release, the center will house several features, including a 3,200-square foot Black Box theater space as well as rehearsal space, a lobby, concessions area, box office and courtyard. The new arts center is estimated to be completed by May 1, 2014. The Spectrum
