Construction starts on Mall Drive bridge in St. George

Work officially started Tuesday on St. George’s long-awaited Mall Drive bridge, a key infrastructure project that transportation officials have pointed to as integral to easing traffic congestion on the east side of the city. Barring any weather-related delays, contractors expect the bridge could be open by September, a major step in easing the traffic congestion that has started to build up with new development in the Little Valley and Washington Fields areas.

The project is expected to cost close to $10 million, including connecting roads, utilities and a new traffic signal at the intersection of Mall Drive and Riverside Drive. The Spectrum
