Legislative session provides funds for southern Utah projects

The 2014 Utah legislative session approved $19.3 million for the construction for the Southwest Applied Technology College building. In addition, $1 million in funding was approved for Dixie State University to help purchase East Elementary in St. George for the expansion of the university. This money was in addition to $500,000 Dixie received last year toward the purchase of the building that has remained in escrow.

The Utah Summer Games was allocated $50,000. Additional funds of $100,000 were earmarked to help build a fence around a portion of the Cedar City golf course in an effort to manage prairie dogs. The Spectrum
