New park seeks to capture Washington County farming history
With plans to develop the Hela Seegmiller Historic Farm as a historic showpiece and regional park, the St. George City Council approved a $812,359 bid last week to make a series of improvements to the historic farm. The public area would include a number of typical park amenities like trails and a large pavilion, but largely re-create some of the area’s farming history with a barn, orchard, pond, pastures, gardens and rebuilt rock buildings.
