Dixie State University names builders for new dorms

Dixie State University (DSU) has announced that Layton Construction will develop a new four-story dormitory building for students during the coming year. The company plans to get the construction project under way in late August. The new student housing building will be located just west of the existing Nisson Towers and Shiloh Hall dorms on the corner of 100 South and 1000 East. The 88,000-square-foot building will have 350 beds for students.

In March, DSU President Biff Williams informed the school's trustees that the recently concluded session of the state Legislature had authorized the school to bond $20 million for an expected $21.5 million building. The Spectrum
