St. George area bicycle network earns state support

Plans to build out a network of bike routes across Washington County, complete with wayfinding signs, bike maintenance stands and designated maps, took a key step this week by earning funding from the Utah Office of Outdoor Recreation. The Washington County Recreational Road Bike Network, which would identify 14 different routes throughout the county, won a $10,710 grant from the state office, money that organizers say will help the county to build on its growing reputation as a destination for cyclists.
