A 113-acre resort with two hotels and a mix of apartments and luxury rental homes, all within a few blocks has been proposed in Ivins. Snow Canyon Resort would be an ambitious project planned for the red-rock landscape south of Snow Canyon State Park. Developers filed a concept plan that describes more than 1,000 building lots at the site, with a mixture of commercial and residential uses.
The proposal would add significantly to the building profile of Ivins, with its existing population of about 8,000, and it is already garnering opposition from neighbors. Some neighbors say the project promises more traffic, multistory buildings obscuring the views and a general change to the overall character of the community.
City officials were quick to reiterate that no formal decisions have been made, noting that residents will have ample opportunity to hear more about the plans before they can pass. The Spectrum
