Two new segments of the Southern Parkway project should open soon and connect the airport with Washington and Hurricane via the Washington Fields and Sand Hollow roads. The eight-mile stretch from Airport Parkway to Washington Dam Road could open the first week of 2014, while the seven-mile stretch between Washington Dam Road and 4300 West could open even sooner, perhaps by next week.
About $26 million had been spent on the latest two segments as of the end of November, with the overall 33-mile Southern Parkway project forecast to cost about $475 million by the time it is done. The Spectrum
