The Census Bureau release Five-Year American Community Survey Estimates The U.S. Census Bureau has just released its 2008-2012 American Community Survey estimates. For those of you living in small counties, this is your chance to delve into detailed demographic data. These estimates provide small communities with information on more than 40 topics including educational attainment, income, occupation, commuting and homeowner costs. Plus, there’s more. For the first time, five-year estimates are available at the neighborhood level for the following topics:

• Disability
• Marital History
• VA Service-Connected Disability Status and Rating
• Health Insurance Coverage
• Year of Naturalization

Five-year estimates are available for the nation, all states, counties, places, census tracts and block groups. The following visualization provides a taste of the vast store of demographic information that is available from the American Community Survey.
