LDS church breaks ground on St. George genealogy library

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and its nonprofit FamilySearch genealogy organization broke ground Saturday morning on a St. George facility that will replace the church’s current research library and serve as a prototype for a new research model throughout the world.

The current church genealogical facility on 400 East, upstairs from Workforce Services, will remain open until construction of the 13,500-square-foot building is completed. An official reception for the new library is expected to be open to the public during the fall of next year. The Spectrum
