Washington County declares intent to bond for DXATC campus hub

Washington County commissioners declared their intent to bond for $8 million to help Dixie Applied Technology College proceed with construction work on a three-story building that will anchor the school’s new campus atop the west bluff overlooking downtown St. George.

DXATC received a $31.9 million commitment from the Legislature to construct the building earlier this year, but state officials told the tech school it would have to find another way to come up with the remaining $13 million that planners said would be necessary for the project, and that the $31.9 million wouldn’t be available until the school did so.
