Cedar City Council approves airport improvements

The Cedar City Airport may be receiving some improvements later this year. The Cedar City Council voted to sign a grant assistance application from the airport that will be submitted to the Federal Aviation Administration. Each year, the FAA awards the airport with a $1 million grant to be used for approved airport improvements, city officials said.

This year’s proposed improvements include asphalt rehabilitation, improvements to the SkyWest carrier ramp and the installation of a concrete hardstand, which officials said will be able to handle the weight of up to a 757 jet. The Spectrum
