Kane County Hospital set to begin $15 million expansion

Expansion plans are underway for the Kane County Hospital. Renovations will include an expanded emergency room with patient waiting rooms, improved security and expanded pharmacy. There will also be an expanded operating room recovery area, as well as an expanded day and dining room in the long-term care facility. The hospital will not be increasing patient beds since it was determined the number was already adequate. The total project will cost $15,000,000. The hospital has set aside $5,000,000 from the one percent rural hospital sales tax toward the project, and has a CIB loan for the remaining $10,000,000. Southern Utah News
