Hildale approves project plan for flood improvements
Hildale’s City Council approved an engineering plan Friday to install a bridge for canyon traffic at the site where a September flash flood washed away two vehicles and killed three women as well as most of their children. The project will involve installing a pre-cast, reinforced concrete arch bridge on Canyon Street where Maxwell Wash flows out of the mountains separating Hildale from the Zion National Park corridor. Plans for the two improvements have been designed with the hope that they can be completed using nearly $1.5 million allocated by Utah’s Permanent Community Impact Fund Board in October. The Spectrum
