The proposal to build a gas-fueled power plant near Sigurd was approved by the Sevier County Commission in a 2-1 vote. The plant developers’ next steps are to obtain an air quality permit and a larger natural gas line. Nevco representative Bruce Taylor said the company has already had preliminary meetings with the Utah Division of Air Quality, as well as Questar Gas to discuss both. “It will take roughly six months,” Taylor said of the air quality permit.
